Thomas asks: I have a Kaffir lime tree. The leaves are not getting as green as they used to. The tips yellow off and there are also yellow blotches throughout the leaf.
Jennifer answers: These leaves should be dark green. I think it’s got a nutrient deficiency which is why it’s looking so yellow. I think the best way to fix the problem is to use something called ‘trace elements’ which are a combination of the minor elements plants need. Feeding it a bit of iron as well will help to put some colour back into the foliage. I would give it a complete citrus food, probably in very early spring and again in summer and ensure it’s well watered.
